Summer Swim Team, ages 7 - 17

Developmental Swim Team
 

Swim Athletes:

Every child will receive coaching on strokes, turns, starts, and finishes. Since this is our first year, we won't be competing in meets but will have team races when the kids feel ready and excited.

Pre-requisite Skills:

Red Cross Swimming level 4 or higher; view levels.

If your child isn't there yet, Durham Parks & Rec has swim lessons to get your child to level 4. Then come back to us in the fall, or next year!

We will test everyone on the first day.  If your child doesn't have level 4 skills, you will receive a refund minus a $7 admin fee.  

In addition to level 4, your child should be able to:

Ages 7 - 9  Swim at least half the pool length with confidence.  

Ages 10 +  Swim the entire pool length (25 yards) or more.

Ages 15 - 17 Previous swim team experience is a plus!

Schedule:

We meet 3 weeks a month in July and August. The 4th week off is for rest, rejuventation, review, integration, and swim play on your own. Download the calendar  which includes practice days and times plus useful info for parents, or click the links for the days below to see the info.

 

Registration and Fees.

Save your child's spot. Register by July 10. We will continue accepting swimmers as space permits.

2. Fill out this questionnaire about you and your child.

3. Choose your days:

$70 for 12 Essential Saturday and Sunday practices. 

$25 for 4 Tuesdays - optional and encouraged.

$25 for  4Thursdays - optional. The more swims, the stronger your athlete.

A $5 membership is required of every team member. We'll send you the link, then please send us a copy of your receipt.
